Turning passions into businesses

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of guest speaking at the first in a series of Country Living Build-A-Business Days. First stop Birmingham on Tuesday, then onto Bristol on Thursday.

Feeling inspired

Perfect for anyone thinking about launching a business or looking to grow an existing one, Country Living’s Build-A-Business Days are packed with invaluable content. From expert talks on key business areas and practical workshops, to hearing from a number of amazing women who have set up successful enterprises (including Emma Bridgewater, Emma Sims-Hilditch and Hannah Nunn) – there was wealth of information presented. At each event, the room was buzzing with ideas, inspiration and a sense of empowerment.

Turning hobbies into businesses

It was truly an honour to be part of each event and hopefully play a small part in someone’s business journey. I met and spoke with many incredible women, each of whom had their own story to tell and passion to follow.

Country Living’s book provides further invaluable inspiration & advice for budding entrepreneurs.

She means business

Today, with Facebook’s launch of its #shemeansbusiness campaign, the media is filled with statistics showing that only 1 in 5 small businesses in the UK are run by women. And the biggest factor holding women back from setting up on their own? Self-belief! It is time for this to change.

Next events

I look forward to joining the Country Living Team at Henley-on-Thames and Tunbridge Wells for the next run of events.
